10 questions with… Michelle Regazzoli Stone
Hi Michelle, welcome to Liffey Valley Style HQ! Thank you for taking the time to talk to us.
1. What is your best childhood memory?
My best childhood memory is going to the sugar loaf on Sundays with my family and a lovely big picnic! Once we went and as we were making our way back down, the heavens opened and we were saturated. My Aunty made a run for it and slipped and was covered in muck… it was so funny!
2. What’s your favourite thing about being a Mum?
My favourite thing about being a mum is seeing my boys progressing, growing, learning and most importantly, being happy.
3. What advice would you give to our Mummy followers?
The advice I’d give my mummy followers is to be your child’s friend so that they can always come to you with any issue they may have. A touch of discipline is no harm either- it’s a tough world out there. Make your children eat their veggies too!
4. What achievement are you most proud of?
The achievement I’m most proud of, apart from my sons, is working in Essex for a year! Travelling back and forth every week by getting planes, trains and taxis to get to where I needed to be in Central London, was scary. It taught me so much and made me fear very little, so I’m proud of that.
5. Why did you choose to be a make-up artist?
I was always artistic and into glamour. I had the most glamorous mum and aunties. When I left school I knew I didn’t want to do beauty, so I did a make-up artist course in Senior College, Dun Laoghaire. It was the best year ever! After leaving, I got a job in MAC and was there for 10 years. It was the best decision of my life.
6. What would you tell your 16 year old self?
I’d tell my 16 year old self to stop worrying about what other people think of me. To get on with my own journey and focus on what makes me ME truly happy.
7. What was the last picture you took on your phone? Can you show us?
The last picture on my phone is my sons waking up with the fuzziest bed head ever! They make me laugh.
8. You blog about your life and style, do you like shopping and where is your favourite place to shop?
I love to shop in a shopping centre that has it all, the convenience and easy access! I love Liffey Valley-it’s so current and on trend.
9. What is your favourite piece of clothing right now?
Ohhhh that’s a hard one! I got a new Tommy Hilfiger navy bomber jacket, it fits like a dream and doesn’t let the wind get in at all; which is amazing for me- I’m always cold.
10. What is your guilty pleasure?
Without a doubt my guilty pleasure is chocolate!

10 questions with… Andreea Opris
Hi Andreea, welcome to Liffey Valley Style HQ! Thank you for taking the time to talk to us.
1. What’s your favourite thing about being a Mum?
I love my mornings with Sophia—they’re my favourite part of the day. Her little face lights up when she sees me in the morning and we enjoy our cuddles before breakfast in bed. I love seeing my little girl growing and evolving into this fun, happy, curious toddler, and I’m proud that I had something to do with it.
2. What advice would you give to our Mummy followers?
Not to be too hard on themselves. My first year with Sophia was a rollercoaster of emotions. I was so anxious all the time and so afraid of doing something wrong that I forgot to relax and enjoy motherhood. It’s also okay not to feel okay all the time. Motherhood is not all bows and rainbows, but I’ll always say that it’s the most challenging and rewarding job I’ve ever had.
3. What achievement are you most proud of?
Besides my little family, I’m very proud to have bought our first home last year. We had saved since we were in college, putting something aside every month to go towards our deposit. After years of renting, it gives me such satisfaction to know that when I look at home interiors or inspiration on Pinterest, I can finally create whatever look I desire in my home.
4. Why did you choose to become a blogger?
My blog started on a whim seven years ago, one boring afternoon, after countless months of reading beauty reviews and following fashion bloggers. I suppose I wanted to give my two cents about my beauty favourites and share some of my personal experiences. Since then, it’s grown every year, from just my friends reading it to almost 26k views a month.
5. What was the last picture you took on your phone? Can you show us?
My last photo is a picture of Sophia, of course. I take dozens of photos and videos each day, to capture our memories together.
6. You blog about your life and style. Do you like shopping and where is your favourite place to shop?
You could say that shopping is my cardio. It’s definitely cheaper than therapy! On my blog and social platforms, you’ll regularly find shopping hauls from River Island – I could easily spend all my money in that store.
7. What is your favourite piece of clothing right now?
My River Island Molly jeans have become my favourite piece of clothing from my wardrobe. I only discovered them in the last two months. They’re just fantastic: they’re high waisted, suck you in in the right places, come in short lengths, and are super skinny and comfortable. I could easily write an essay about how fab they are! I just need a white pair to complete my collection.
8. What is your guilty pleasure?
I love celebrity gossip—there, I said it! I’m glued to E! News every day, and I never miss a show. How else will I know how is Beyoncé doing
9. What’s your star sign and do you think it matches your personality?
I’m a true Capricorn. I love to organise and plan, and I’m feeling my best when I’m working. The downside of my sign is that I’m pretty stubborn and like to have things done my way.
10. What’s your favourite social platform – Snapchat, Instagram or Facebook?
Instagram has my heart by far! You can find me over @yourbeauty.ie. I just love the story of the pictures and the instant connection with the poster through the new Insta Stories feature. I get so much inspiration from it for style, food and just general life hacks.

2017 Spring fashion trends
Need advice for your Spring look? Never fear, the Liffey Valley style team are back to spread the word on the hottest trends for Spring 2017.
1. Think Pink
Be it hot, shocking, blush or baby, pink is this season’s must have colour. But don’t just take our word for it, pink is trending throughout the major fashion capitals of the world, reaching its pinacle on the Gucci runway (which was entirely pink!).

Top Tips to create your 2017 Inspiration Board
Inspiration boards are a great way to focus on what you plan to achieve this year. Whether you want to get fit, travel more, change job, or all of the above, visual boards will help kick start your journey.
Here are Liffey Valley’s top tips on how you can create your own inspiration board.
Start by sourcing a foam or poster board, which are available in Art & Hobby. Our advice is to choose a foam board where possible as they’re sturdier and should see you through to the following year. Alternatively, pick up a scrap book, adding to it throughout the year or why not create an area on a wall in your home.
Encouraging words and phrases:
Having a mix of words, pictures and positive phrases in different colours and fonts adds depth to inspiration boards and makes them more appealing to the eye, and therefore more encouraging.
Cut out words and pictures from old magazines or newspapers and start sticking!

In the same way, the new name, Flying Tiger Copenhagen, illustrates our wish to surprise by connecting things you do not normally connect, the tiger that flies, while at the same time emphasizing Tiger’s Danish heritage.

Hines submits planning application for significant expansion at Liffey Valley Shopping Centre
Plans include additional 22,000 sq. m. net retail space; 1,800 car parking spaces, a major new civic plaza and a 2,500 seat Olympic-sized indoor ice arena.
Hines Ireland, as asset and development managers has today (5 Feb 2016) announced submission of a planning application for a significant expansion of one of Ireland’s best known shopping and leisure destinations at Liffey Valley in West Dublin on behalf of it’s co-owners*. Planning permission is being sought for an additional 22,000 sq. m. net retail space together with a mix of other uses. The application, proposes the building of an Olympic standard ice arena with capacity for 2,500 spectators, capable of hosting international ice skating competitions, ice hockey matches and ice entertainment performances. The plan proposes 1,800 additional car parking spaces and a transformation of the Centre’s civic spaces with the addition of a major new public space equivalent to a typical European-scale Urban Plaza.
Detailed studies commissioned by Hines into the existing market predict spending and population growth in Liffey Valley’s catchment will outstrip growth in supply over the next 5 years, demonstrating the need for new retail space in West Dublin in the coming years.
Commenting on the planning submission, Brian Moran, Senior Managing Director of Hines Ireland, stated “This is a significant yet timely planning proposal for Liffey Valley, underpinned by evidence of emerging demand for this scale of expansion in the future. We are submitting the application now as a strategic forward planning initiative aimed at the sustainable development of Liffey Valley in line with future market needs.
Our research shows that if the planned expansions to all Dublin shopping centres went ahead in the next 5 years, it would add 12% to the retail floor area in the city region. Customer spend and population growth will outstrip this, so we are making this application now as economic growth accelerates to avoid the kind of lack of supply we are currently seeing in office and residential markets.
Over the past 24 months we have been cultivating a new vision for Liffey Valley via a series of works in the Centre and the western end extension. Already a leading employer and contributor to the local community, this new project will maintain Liffey Valley’s integral role in the local economic development of West Dublin over the next decade. Now is the right time to forward plan to ensure future retail demand is met within this strategically-located Regional Shopping Centre.”
Commenting on today’s announcement, Development Director of Hines Ireland, Kevin Ryan, said the new development at Liffey will enhance and complement the existing Centre: “We are proposing a major new glazed public plaza together with the addition of other uses besides retail. This will add a new sense of place and identity to the Centre while linking into the existing facilities and the West End development which is due for completion at the end of 2016.
The new public space will provide an additional mixed leisure entertainment, commercial and retail extension creating an active public environment, which fully resonates with the local community. This, combined with €28 million invested in the complex over the past 18 months, means we are building on a successful retail mix and customer experience and establishing Liffey Valley as one of Ireland’s leading shopping and leisure destinations.”
Commenting on the provision of a new Olympic sized ice arena, Ice Skating Association of Ireland President Karen O’Sullivan said: “This is a significant and exciting next step for ice skating in Ireland. A new arena will allow us to meet the significant underlying demand for ice skating across Ireland and allow our athletes to train and compete at home; giving us the best chance to develop home-grown international champions of the future. Hines has worked closely with ISAI to include all the features to allow this to become the permanent home of Irish ice skating teams and a top quality international ice sports venue.”
In advance of this planning submission, an architectural competition was initiated to come up with a world class design for the proposed new retail and leisure spaces at Liffey Valley. The US architects RTKL were selected having devised a visionary design which envisages transformative new civic spaces being added to the existing building at Liffey Valley.
The project once initiated has the potential to create up to 450 construction employment opportunities during development approximately 1,500 full and part-time jobs upon completion, bringing the total number of people employed within the centre to over 3,700.

We are expanding!
We are delighted to commence a €26 million investment in the retail, leisure and community facilities on offer at Liffey Valley Shopping Centre. It represents an exciting new phase of development for the Centre which has evolved into a major shopping destination for west Dublin and beyond. The €26 million investment will bring a new Penneys store, six restaurants, a cinema upgrade and a new civic space.
In addition, this investment will bring 450 full and part-time jobs on completion, as well as up to 225 construction jobs during the development phase. Liffey Valley’s expansion will also be a key element of local economic development in west Dublin and we are very pleased to commence these works to deliver the jobs and business benefits that will come from the expansion. We expect to see the cinema upgrade open in Autumn 2015, with the new Penneys due to open in late 2016.
This development of our customer offering is on top of our already successful retail mix comprising 100 stores and anchor tenants such Marks & Spencer, Next, Dunnes Stores and Boots. Liffey Valley also has a wide range of restaurants, a 1,000 seat newly refurbished food court and a 3,500-seat VUE cinema.
This expansion plan signals a promising new chapter for Liffey Valley and the customer experience that makes it one of Ireland’s leading shopping destinations.
