

Barkhill Limited is a joint venture company between Grosvenor and O’Callaghan Properties.
From grant of planning, we anticipate a 2 to 3 year construction period with plans to be open and trading of 2013. Specifically, if we successfully achieve planning by summer 2010, detailed design and procurement typically takes approximately 6 months to the end of 2010, followed by a 2 to 3 year construction period leading us to an opening date in 2013.
The construction phase of the project will create 2,000 jobs. A further 2,000 new jobs in civic amenities, retail, security, cleaning and additional services will be created on completion in 2012.
There is a residential element in the Local Area Plan and its likely that residential could form part of subsequent phases of development. It was felt that given the current state of the residential market that concentrating on the civic, transport and retail elements would be better use of resources at the current time.
