10 Questions with… Jennifer Haughton

Hi Jen, welcome to Liffey Valley Style HQ! Thank you for taking the time to talk to us.  
Let’s begin….

1. What is your favourite childhood memory?

I think it would have to be spending my whole summer soaking up the sun in Spain. Every year, myself and my family would head over to the Costa Blanca where my parents have a place for at least a month of my summer holidays. I made fantastic friends and when we returned home, we would keep in touch as pen pals. Some of these are still my best friends today.

2. What achievement are you most proud of?

Earlier this year I competed in my first ever bikini fitness competition. Stepping on that stage in front of a theater full of people was such a proud moment, and to walk away with 4th place made it even better.

3. What would you tell your 16 year old self?

As I’ve grown older I have learned that it is not about the amount of friends you have but the amount of real friends you can count on when the going gets tough.

4. What was the last picture you took on your phone? Can you show us?

I was away in Spain at the weekend and there is one restaurant I always visit just for their Raspberry Ripple ice-cream – and of course as I run a food blog, I take pictures of all of my food!

5. You blog about your life and style, do you like shopping and where is your favourite place to shop?

It is rare that I get to step out of gym clothes and I have an obsession with runners so I would have to say Lifestyle and JD Sports.

6. What is your guilty pleasure?

It has to be my daily dose of dark chocolate dunked in to a cup of strong coffee.

 

7. What is your pet peeve?

I am a serious neat freak and everything needs to be spick and span. One thing that really gets on my nerves is when someone puts cutlery in the dishwasher the wrong way – OCD much.

8. Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?

Family means a lot to me so when I look to the future, that is the first thing that I think of and I hope that in 10 years time, I will have started my own.
I am a huge fan of travelling and in 10 years I plan to have ticked a lot more destinations off my list which is ever growing.

9. Do you have any nicknames (beside Nutty Nutrition of course!)?

Dora the Explorer. When I was 19 I cut my hair in to a bob and let’s just say the similarities were uncanny so the name stuck since then. My love of travelling only added to the explorer part.

10. What’s your favourite animal?

Anyone that follows me will recognize this face – my 2 year old Frenchie Gucci. We were never allowed a dog when I was growing up so once I moved out and got my own place, it was the first thing on my list. He really is like my baby.
